UT200xFiles Submission Guidelines
Last Updated 15 April 2009

Contents

Submission Checklist
  • In the subject of your email, please specify the name of your mod, and which category you think it belongs in.
  • Make sure you zip your file!
  • Be sure you've tested your file! Make sure it works, and that there are no bugs, before you submit!
  • Always include the name you wish to have as the author of the file in your email. Also make sure to include an email address, so we can contact you if needs be.
  • You must include a readme file. No exceptions. Files without a suitably formatted readme will be rejected.
  • Only submit files you have made. In the event of multiple people working on a file, the one who does most work is the one who must submit it, naming all involved as the author in the email.. In the event of a mod team, the team leader submits the file, with the author set as the team's name which should be provided in the email.
Rules and Regulations
  • Absolutely NO adult content will be permitted.
  • Questionable content may be removed at the discretion of the reviewer. They may or may not email you regarding the removal of content. Again, this is at their own discretion.
  • All submissions must comply with the Plagiarism Policy. Failure to do so will likely result in rejection, although in circumstances outlined within the policy itself, this may not be to case.
  • Illegal content will be outright rejected. This includes ported material used without permission, copyrighted material used without permission, basically anything in breach of the Plagiarism Policy.

Formatting Your Readme

You must supply a suitably formatted readme with your file. If you're unsure as to what format your readme should be in, feel free to copy, edit, and use the template below.

Helpful Hints
  • If you have a file that is too large to send via email, there are two other ways of getting it to us. You can either take advantage of FileFront's free file hosting, and provide a link in the email, or you can use MegaUpload to get the file to us. Be aware that submission rules do still apply.
  • When naming your zip files, use only letters, numbers, and underscores. The FTP system will remove any strange symbols or spaces anyway.
  • When including screenshots, make sure they are in the right proportions. 640x480 or 800x600 are ideal, and are preferred sizes.
  • Only submit a file once. If you submit multiple copies of a file, we'll delete any older copies and you'll have to wait until we get to the most recent copy. Only make multiple submissions if you have an important fix for the file, or if a staff member has asked you to do so. If you expect to be frequently updating your file, as in multiple updates per day, please wait until you're done updating before submitting.
Formatting Your Email
Properly formatted emails are not compulsory, although reviewers may choose to reject improperly formatted emails at their discretion. Ideally, we need to be able to get the relevant information from your email. Below is a sample of what your email will ideally look like.

Final Checklist
Before submitting your file, run through this checklist and make sure you meet all the criteria.
  • Make sure your mod works.
  • Make sure your readme is complete and included.
  • Make sure your mod is correctly packaged, including any necessary documents.
  • Make sure your file omplies all the submission and plagiarism rules.
  • Make sure you've correctly formatted your email.
  • Double check all attachments, to make sure you've included everything.
  • Make sure you've given the email an appropriate title.

Submit Your File!
When your file and email meet all the guidelines listed above, you're ready to send us your file!

Submit your file to us at files@ut200xfiles.com.

We look forward to receiving your files. Please allow at least 7 days (1 week) for uploading.
