Description:

This is a fix for the game not starting up on Windows XP 64 and Windows Server 2003 systems. This patch has not undergone the same amount of QA as the released demo so I strongly encourage to ONLY replace the UT3Demo.exe with the one from the patch if you are experiencing the "Modified executable code is not allowed" issue at startup.

what exactly is this supose to fix? I STILL GET A BLUESCREEN AFTER STARTING!

Read the file description. It only fixes the games' inability to run on the 64-bit version of Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003.

Sadly, it doesn't fix any of the issues for standard 32-bit versions of Windows.

Hey all,

I believe folks are having problems with crashing due to one of two reasons. It may be due to faulty or obsolete graphics or sound drivers. I had problems starting the demo and crashing all the time. I re-installed the latest nVidia graphics and Soundblaster X-Fi drivers. Personally, I believe it's a problem with the sound card drivers.

I'm running an E6800, 2gb, nVidia 7950Gx2, Vista Home Premium. The game runs fine after updating my sound drivers. As far as the game...well, it's okay. It's not what I was hoping for... I know it's a demo and the actual release will be nice. But, I've been playing Halo 3 lately, and Halo, I don't know, seems a little slower paced, structured, and easier to take in the scenery and characters. Ut3 feels like it has become an Unreal version of quake 4 IMO. ...and I didn't care for Quake 4 death match, though the single player campaign was okay.

Anyway...just my two cents. wink

yeah i've been thinking the same, though i suspect it to be the graphic card drivers, there's another game that does exacty the same even though its a completly other game so thnx for the advice, and i encourage ppl to listen and update your drivers!

Its probably your graphics cards not having enough memory, for instance you need at least 256 for this game to run at all, but if you had 512, it would make a world of difference, so people like me with rubbish 256 cards, are stuck with crap.

Well, My 7950GX2 has 1gb of memory and this game runs at 30-35FPS, while UT2004 runs at 80-90FPS. So, is there a problem with the UT3 demo, or is it my drivers and graphics card that has me struggling with the demo?

Edit:

...the latest drivers from Nvidia give me 45-55fps with max resolution on this game. That's a good thing. Timeshift, on the other hand, runs so much smoother. Very curious.
