ONS-Hyrule (V1.1) - File Description  


Description:
Legend of Zelda fans rejoice! ONS-Hyrule is here!

This map is based on the classic SNES Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past over world map. The map is epic, it is a very good representation of the world of Hyrule. The main attraction, the castle, stands large and proud. Players can see the castle throughout the map, making the player feel small and making one feel like they are there. Other regions are a housing section, a windmill wall, and a structure overseeing the volcano among other regions that aren't highlighted here.

    Some of the New Updates in this Version Include:
    • Many missing weapons added, more powerful weapons harder to get.
    • Vehicles added, Leviathan for Default Link Setup and Bonus Vehicles in all Link Setups.
    • Health Packs and Armor at nodes, Keg O' Health in secret room.
    • Redeemer added in hardest to reach place.
    • Target Painter added in secret places.

    A full list can be seen in the readme.


New missing weapons, power-ups, and other things that you would expect to see in a death match map are here as well.

If you like or remember playing to old Link games, this map is for you.

INSTRUCTIONS:
-------------
Extract the 4 folders in this zip file to your UT2004 directory, let it overwrite.


What was updated?
-----------------
-Map now has 3 link setups. Previously was none/UNPLAYABLE!!!
Default - Includes off track Leviathan for both teams.
Round Robin - Circle link, no crossing. NO LEVIATHAN
King of the Castle - All nodes lead to Castle. NO LEVIATHAN

-Many missing weapons added, more powerful weapons harder to get.
-Vehicles added, Leviathan for Default Link Setup and Bonus Vehicles in all Link Setups.
-Health Packs and Armor at nodes, Keg O' Health in secret room.
-Redeemer added in hardest to reach place.
-Target Painter added in secret places.
-All items balenced between both teams.
-Jump Pads added for hard to reach platforms.
-Teleport added for sniper rifle.
-UT2004 Zelda Theme added to music.
-Map screenshots and description added.

Posts: 9 		About time this got uploaded to the public. I've had the beta for a while, but it was never available anywhere... I'm guessing the nodes got set up in this verson.

Posts: 9 		Sorry for the double post, but after actually playing the map I guess I could give a bit of a better review lol

I like it.

It's definitely colorful, and has quite a few of the landmarks of A Link to the Past. The custom soundtrack is AWESOME, as well.

There seems to be a lack of shock rifles, though. They only appear at one of the nodes on the red side. There's also some issues with tree collision, as well as draw distance. The terrain is a bit bland, as well.

All in all though, I think it's worth a download, it's definitely an interesting map. If you're a fan of Zelda I'd definitely suggest this map.

Posts: 2 		Was unable to get these files to work and when I checked it in the Map Editor, it said files were missing so could not fully process the map. I only used this as a method to see if the files were corrupt. Would be nice to see this map as I liked playing Zelda and running around Hyrule. I have read others in other sites claiming it works, so maybe something is missing before it will show up in the gametypes before it can be played.

Posts: 2 		Is there a special mod we need before this works? When I say "works", it does not show up in the gametypes at all. I have a stock install with 3669 patch installed.
