Readme File:
MonstAr.

Custom Player Character for Unreal Tournament 2003 and 2004.

What you get:

- Custom Character model
- Custom Character animations
- Custom Character skins (Default and CTF skins)
- Custom Portrait
- Custom Karma Ragdoll
- lots of fun and you also get to look cool and unusual in the game :)

How do you get this to work (manual installation):

All you have to do is put the files in the folders that are in this directory into the same named folders in UT2003 or UT2004 directories. For Example there's a file in the Animations folder in this directory called Monsta.ukx all you have to do is drag it into the Animations folder in UT2003 or UT2004 directory and you're done. Same goes for all the other files, once you finish with that the character has been installed and you can fire up the game.

What if you can't get this work:

I've tested it and it works, but if for some reason u can't get it working, please feel free to email me at: vitaliyn@optonlilne.net

So who made this thing anyway:

This character was made by

Vitaliy "mr. Rockstar" Naymushin - design, modeling, texturing. <vitaliyn@optonline.net>

and

Michael "Squirt" Buettner - rigging, animation, importing. <squirt@gmx.net>

props go out to Skullbox and Aga, and other miscelaneous peeps that helped out and inspired us to make this. Rock on.

Enjoy :)

whats a mech? a robot?

 #3 - Oi.... - Posted by: hawkofwar (Member) on 07-01-2004 at 17:49
Wow, I never really thought that I'd be explaining this.

A Mech is derived from mechanical, obviously. It is a term usually given to bi-pedal machines of large size, typically designed for battle and can be either human driven or computer. Dictionary.com says that it is a term that just means mechanial or mechanics but it is often used as a sort of shorthand for a walking machine.

The current popular use of the word probably derived from the BattleTech universe, an RPG game that utilized giant walking battletanks that were referred to as BattleMech's in this universe. People often dropped the battle part of the word and just left mech. Since then this has led to a spread father out beyond this game and has infiltrated the English language with the affore mentioned meaning.

DISCLAIMER: Don't quote me. While I believe most of this information to be true, the word mech may have taken that meaning before I said it did. Otherwise, I can say that all I have said to be true to the best of my knoweldge.

This is not the kind of model that fits in the Unreal universe. It's more Quakish.

By the way. The word mech is originally written like this: Mech'

 #9 - cool - Posted by: TwistedReality (Member) on 03-09-2007 at 11:17
Barney and Super Mario dont fit in the Unreal universe either, but their still fun to battle with. Roll Eyes (sarcastic)
Yeah, it's freaky and disturbing, but I like a good scare. It's great for creepy maps like Slaughterhouse.
