Here is my review of the previous version :
Ok, first of all, the readme is really bad at explaining how to install this mod, secondly this mod is awesome! It replaces the Electric sniper rifle with one similar to the original UT version, and it is rapid fire, which makes a change from the annoying recharge of the stardard sniper rifle. One bad thing apart from the abysmal readme, is that when you walk over the rifle, you dont hear a sound that tells you you have picked it up. It's only a little problem but it's there. A nice little feature is the infamous 'sniper dot' - a little red dot appears wherever you aim the rifle. I'm not sure i like the whit box around the dot in terms of design, but it is still extremely effective. Now, my favourite part of the weapon - The Scope. It looks really realistic and extremely professional. It has scratch marks around the edges, which look very neat but don't block your vision. The targeting recticle is accurate, and theres this little message that comes up on it, telling you about reloads, and ready to fire status. Theres also a distance meter, which doesn't move but adds to the effect of the weapon. From the outside, this weapon looks very good as well. Just like a sniper rifle with a hi-tech scope should Detailed, Professional, Awesome, and most importantly, fun to play with. Amazing mod
One last thing, credit goes to the original makers of this mod, and to all the people who have helped its development - If you ever bring us an update, fix the picking up sound and provide a better readme! (For anyone wondering, its bad because for anyone who doesnt understand the different folders e.t.c, they have no idea where to put the multiple files)

And now here's the update. Not a lot has changed for this version, except for the major fact that it is now 100 times easier to install big grin Fender has included both the umod version AND the standard install, for people who have problems with the umod version. He has also included a patch which fixes the 'OMG! there's no ammo pickups for this' problem. Nice Work. The readme is also a lot clearer for people new to the concept of putting all the files in different directories. My one bad point, however small, is that you always start with the weapon, along with the shield gun and assault rifle, making the actual weapon pickup useless. If you make a 1.02, i suggest you get rid of this wink

Chaos Zark Rifle:

Modified version of the sniper rifle from the Chaos UT2 Mod by {FzS}Fender. Many thanks to the Chaos crew , especially Jb for allowing me to do this.

For anyone that doesn't know what a Zark rifle is... It's basically an automatic sniper rifle that has become popular with the online gamers. It
originated in the first installment of Unreal Tournamnent and was originally coded by Chris "Zark" Houghton. Zark has since made the leap to UT2003 in
rifles that have taken various forms due to the unfortunate case that the new game doesn't supply a decent sniper rifle. Lightning gun.....blehh!!

This particular rifle, thanks to the team at Chaos, has features that no other Zark rifle has had. These include a Laser Sighted scope, a Range finder and a realistic
time delay to account for distance the bullet must travel. All this with a great model to boot.

To install:

Ok, first you want to find your UT2003 folder, which is normally c:/UT2003 and open it up. Then, open up your ChaosZark.zip. You should see your ChaosZark
folder. Open that up and you should see several folders, a readme and an HTML page from Chaos. The folders are what we are to focus on at this point. Now,
look once again within your UT2003 folder and look for the 5 corresponding folders that are within the ChaosZark folder. These folders are: Animations,
Sounds, StaticMeshes, System and Textures. Now, go back to your ChaosZark folder, note the same 5 folder names as previously mentioned and open up the
Animations folder. You should see the file CZAnim.ukx. Copy this file and paste into the Animations folder that is in your UT2003 folder. Repeat these
steps respectively in the same manner through all the folders within the ChaosZark folder.

After this is done, fire up your game and look for "Chaos Zark Rifle" in your mutator list. It also works if you want to use it in "Arena". Select one of
these and go to town.

To run on a server:

Add these lines under [Engine.GameEngine] in your UT2003.ini file located in your UT2003 folder.

To install, Copy the two files - ChaosZark101.u and ChaosZark101.int from within the ChaosZark101(fix).zip and place them in the System folder located
in the UT2003 directory, which is normally located at C:/UT2003. Then start up the game and look for Chaos Zark Rifle 1.01 on your mutator list. You can
also find Chaos Zark Rifle 101 in your Arena mutator configuration list.

optionally, if you want to remove the old Chaos Zark Rifle, open your UT2003 folder and look for your System folder. Open that and find 2 files "ChaosZark.u
and ChaosZark.int" and delete them.

To run on a Server:

Add this line under [Engine.GameEngine] in your UT2003.ini

~Szico VII~ you're so right about this mod...great rifle period. Anyway the one thing taking points away from this 1 is what you said..."you always start with the weapon, along with the shield gun and *****ault rifle" ... which kind of screws up the whole point, unless you just want to play in an Arena, which from there you CAN select the ChaosZark rifle from the drop down list. Nice work
